Women’s enemy is women?

 

I have heard this sentence since early time. I didn’t understand why a woman hates another woman. I thought that this is a certain lie from some proud men. However, as I’m getting older I think it may be true.

 

For example I feel uncomfortable in the company where women outnumber men. They were always talking about people’s fault. I also could feel that they were talking about me. ‘She seems to have gained weight!’’, ‘Why doesn’t she have a child?’, ‘Why doesn’t she comment about my new hair style?’ Too indifferent…’ etc. I was really stressed but I kept my anger down.

 

Second example is about my mother-in-law. She had expected a young and sweet daughter–in-law. But I’m not charming and sociable and I take a long time to get familiar with someone. (especially elder people) So she was disappointed with me and I could understand her mind at that time. But she tried to change my character and attitude. So she forced me to call her every day and for us to visit her every week. My husband was getting tired faster than me. He said to her that it is too hard to do. And.. why does she blame me? She is thinking that her son has changed after marriage. Why? I can’t understand.

 

Many Korean people think that men are more dominating than women. It is a man who says that. But the only woman who says that is my mother-in-law.
