Taj Mahal

Before I arrived in this country, I lived in India for 3 months. I was in Bangalore, which is an inland area located in south India. On the last week in India, I had a chance to visit north India but I chose Kerala state, which is renowned for beaches in the Arabic Sea. That was a proper decision for me because I’m usually influenced by weather, but there was the one regret. It was a fact that I missed the opportunity for visiting Taj Mahal.

Taj Mahal is actually a kind of grave being shaped as a palace, which was erected by Shah Jahan, who was an emperor in the Mogul Empire. It is famous for the story that he had built it for 22 years, for Mumaz Mahal who was an empress, as an expression of the sympathy since she died. So it has been called the symbol of love being above space time as well as the most representative Islam structure in the world.

It is made by tons of marble and jewelry from many countries, and it needed lots of experts from other countries and 20,000 workers to be built. So it affected the national finance fatally. But it is absolutely beautiful, even in some pictures. The marbles change their colors as the sun moves, and the grand palace is like floating on the waterway. Besides, it shows a perfect symmetry not only in the main structure, but also in the gate, pond and even garden.

Many Indian people recommended me to visit there for many reasons, and they told me it was romantic or crazy. If I see the aspect of love, it will be the most genuine consequence in the history. But, in a different side, it was the most selfish and inhuman to the people of the same period. I’ve never been to Taj Mahal yet, but sometimes when I imagine when I’m in there, I feel scared about my immediate feeling. Will I exclaim at the beauty or feel sad from the pains?

- Excellent! Good mix of personal opinion and fact, highlighted by using passives for facts. Well done!
