Top University in the world – Peking University

 

Peking University is the No.1 University in China, which is located in Peking, the capital city of China. Even though it the 46^th ranked university in the world in 2012, it is the greatest place in China. So it is said that only geniuses can enter, who are chosen out of 1:3 billion people in China. It was founded in 1898 and it has 47^th colleges and 101 bachelors’ degrees in the university.

 

Among them it is famous for liberal arts, law school, economic. The number of students is 35 thousand including students sent abroad. The library has the largest number of books in Asia. It also has old structures and traditional scenery because it was located in the special garden of the Ching dynasty.

 

Although it is the most prestigious university in China, the students are very positive about social movements. Actually they led people to the May Fourth Movement (1919), and the Tiananmen Square Protests (1989), which was the most important democratic movement in China. In contrast with this, Tsinghua University, which is the 2^nd best university in China, is located on the opposite of Peking University and concentrates only on studies. So people say that Peking university students are ‘mad’ and Tsinghua University students are ‘the fools’.

 

Nowadays Tsinghua University is making rapid progress because they have so many graduates, who are famous politicians like Hu Jintao and Xi Jinping. However, students and professors still voice their opinions strongly. And many parents who have children of students are visiting the University with their children to get lots of motivation.
